Project Highlights and Results
- Heat recovery runaround loop recovers energy from building’s laboratory exhaust system to preheat incoming makeup air.
- Designed control sequences reduced pump speed based on measured air and water temperature differentials for significant energy savings and an hourly heat recovery effectiveness >80% during the winter.
- Heat recovery chiller supplements campus cooling loads and provides laboratory preheat – allowing the boiler plant to be shutdown during summer months and reducing the load on the campus’ Central CW Plant.
