Project Highlights & Results

  • Replacement of (2) AHUs serving critical use space including research laboratories that could not be without ventilation air for extended periods.
  • The project implemented AHU redundancy that was used for construction phasing to maintain operation while each AHU was repaced, as well as allowing for future maintenance and downtime without disrupting building operations.
  • The new AHUs were provided with energy and water effeciency upgrades including energy recovery from building system exhaust, reducing internal pressure restrictions, higher effeciency fan types, atomizing humidification, and cooling coil condensate recovery to offset cooling tower makeup water.
  • The project included an initial design phase to evaluate options to either replace or refurbish the existing AHUs.
