Accounting Coordinator

Elara Engineering is seeking an Accounting Coordinator to support the growth of our Operations Team in a variety of functions focused on firm accounting and human resources. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Coordinator’s primary responsibility shall be to assist in the administration and support of financial activities for the organization with supplementary responsibility in support of the firm’s Human Resources activities in collaboration with the Operations Manager. 

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have good interpersonal skills, and possess a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assist the Accounting Manager in administering the organization’s accounting-related operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit policies, billing, project accounting, and payroll. 
  • Assist the Accounting Manager in performing accounting reconciliations and completing month-end close. 
  • Assist the Accounting Manager and Operations Manager in maintaining employee records to ensure accuracy and compliance, including weekly timesheets, changes in employment status, payroll deduction and compensation adjustments, employee work authorizations, and employee licensing certifications, as required.  
  • Assist the Operations Manager in administering the employee performance review process by collecting and organizing employee records, tracking review dates, and updated related records. 
  • Assist the Accounting Manager by collecting and providing requested information for required regulatory reports and external consultants, as needed. 
  • Assist the Accounting Manager in facilitating benefits annual renewals (including business insurance) and maintaining Certificates of Insurance. 
  • Participate in a wide variety of other accounting or operations-related projects and tasks as assigned or requested. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (or related field) or equivalent relevant experience. 
  • High level of integrity and business ethics with a strong sense of confidentiality is critical. 
  • Good interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work well with individuals at all levels of the organization. 
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and critical thinking skills and the ability to successfully balance competing priorities and shifting demands. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs is required. 
  • Familiarity with Unanet AE or similar ERP software a plus. 
  • Must be able to report to Elara’s headquarters presently located in Hillside, IL a minimum of one business day per week in coordination with the Accounting Manager. 

SALARY & BENEFITS:     $60,000 – $80,000
