Elara Engineering is seeking an experienced project engineer in the K-12/Municipal market. The multi-faceted position would include a significant role on a multi-disciplinary team managing several projects, including new construction and renovation in the K-12/Municipal market. The individual would be expected to manage several engineers on a project basis as well as coordinate and interface with owners and architects. Based on experience, this role may also involve sales and marketing roles interfacings with School Districts and Architects directly.
- REVIT/AutoCAD Experience
- Possess a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and advanced design concepts
- Working knowledge of applicable Building and Energy Codes
- The ability to lead projects from inception to completion, including managing the efforts of the team to a project budget (Facility Master Planning, Pre-Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction/Permit Documents, Construction Administration, Project Closeout & Punchlist)
- Proactive project management including direction and coordination of other design disciplines such as Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection and external Architectural disciplines
- Attend meetings with Owners and Architects as needed
- Review & QAQC of Design & Contract Documents prior to issuance
- Experience with cost estimating and budget evaluation of projects
- Desire to be a technical resource to the team, while facilitating technical collaboration and development of others
- Responsible for ensuring progress of deliverables to the client within the project schedule and constraints
- Monitor internal fees, project performance, and potential additional services and proactively report to the K-12 Team Leader
- Experience in the design of:
- Hydronic Systems such as boiler plants, chiller plants, variable-primary & primary-secondary pumping systems, Chilled beam & induction displacement systems, water-source heat pumps systems, etc.
- Air-side systems such as DOAS, VAV, FPB, terminal heat pump, VRF, etc.
- HVAC Temperature Controls/Building Automation
- Assist in maintaining and developing positive and productive relationships with existing and prospective clients.

- Currently Holds a PE License in Illinois
